Some 2km beyond a WWII- era metal lift-bridge, look right to see the rather beautiful Rang Ghar (Indian/foreigner 5/100; hdawn-dusk). However, if you value a personal service you d best look elsewhere.

The MTC bus station (Jail Rd) also has a computerised railway-reservation counter (nearest train station is Guwahati).
